  1. Obsessing over Daisies

    Daisy Days 2

Daisy printed clothing and accessories are huge this season and I for one am loving it! Daisies are fun and whimsical and intrinsically summery. They remind me of warm summer days basking in the sun making daisy chains without a care in the world. Oh what I would give for some sunny days right about now!

From high end to high street daisies are everywhere and I am finding it very difficult to resist filling my wardrobe with its cuteness! Whether you go for OTT sequinned motifs and statement jewellery or subtle cutouts and some cute bobby pins I think everybody needs to add a little flower power to their wardrobe!

Am I the only one obsessed with daisies at the moment? How do you wear yours?

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty that is Collectif Clothings SS14 collection! Swoon!

Collectif are one of my favourite repro brands of all time for many reasons. The fit is always spot on for me so unlike several other brands I don't need to dig out my sewing machine and make alterations, the fabric is always great quality and the designs for each season are always the perfect mix of traditional vintage inspiration and fun modern style. The new SS14 collection contains some seriously stunning tiki prints, quirky nautical dresses and gorgeous florals not to mention a healthy dose of gingham and cherry motifs.

I own several items from them already and they are pretty much the most loved pieces in my wardrobe mainly because they make my ass look awesome! Seriously their pencil skirts are like a bra for my bum I think based on what I have seen of their new collection I am going to have to make some extra space in my wardrobe and apologise to my bank card for the inevitable bashing it is about to take!

    Bow - Alternate Normality
    Top - Charity Shop
    Skirt - Handmade
    Belt - Charity Shop
    Shoes - Everything5pounds

This week has been a pretty quiet one for me between helping the mother in law move house and having new carpets fitted there hasnt been much time for productivity or fun - sad times! Not to mention that it's half term which means me spending everyday with a small child glued to me demanding entertainment - I have officially lost count of how many times I have had to act out the Frozen storyline to the soundtrack! (FYI I always have to be Elsa)

I did manage to briefly snap some pictures of what has to be the most budget friendly outfit ever! I have recently rediscovered my love for making things just for fun and my first project was this skirt. It's just a super simple half-circle skirt but I love it! I think I may have to add pockets to my next one though because nothing makes me happier than a skirt with pockets and yes I know I need to get out more! I love the print of this fabric it's fun and colourful and has everything from pineapples to beach huts, I teamed it with the matching bow for ultimate five year old girl chic. Finished off with a £1.50 striped top and a 50p belt I think this entire outfit cost me around £12 which feels like a pretty epic bargain!

Have you ever styled up an outfit for less than £15? I would love to see some of your handmade or charity shop outfits tweet me and let me know!

Leopard print dress - H&M via a charity shop
    Leopard print boots - Ebay
Polka dot headband - Alternate Normality
True Romance Necklace - Bete Noire

I have meant to share some outfit posts for a while now but I have been suffering from a serious case of the wardrobe blues. So this is the first time in about a month that I haven't just hated every outfit I put on everything was either too big, too small or just not damn right!
However on saturday while getting ready for my first fair of the year I finally feel like I got some of my outfit mojo back! I got up bright and early and scoured my wardrobe for something fun, comfortable and most importantly something that went with my amazing new Bete Noire necklace from the husband shaped one!

And well this is what I came up with bold & girly with some quirky retro details and a healthy dose of my favourite leopard print all finished off with some glittery polka dots!

What do you think? Do you ever get stuck in a wardrobe rut?

  5. Love Hearts Everywhere - Valentine fashion inspiration!

    Valentine's Inspiration

As Valentine's day quickly approaches it is the perfect time for me to indulge in drooling all over one of my favourite kinds of prints - the ever adorable heart print! While it may be slightly too cutesy for some I will never bore of it! (Then again I do tend to go OTT outfit wise!) If I see some heart shaped fashion goodness I'm all over it - especially in a classic red and white colour combo!

So with my Queen of Hearts Crown as a starting point I have scoured the internet in search of plenty of heart shaped loveliness to feast your eyes on and maybe add to basket too...

Words can not describe just how much love I have for this heart print crop top and circle skirt from Style Icon's Closet the print is perfection and i think that twirling around the full skirt with layers of frothy petticoats underneath would most definitely take me to my happy place! And I have been eyeing up the acrylic heart necklace from Sugar and Vice's new gemstone collection ever since I first saw it on Instagram ( the major downside to self-employment is not being able to buy these things immediately!)

In my dreams I shall be wearing all of these goodies at once because subtlety just isn't my thing! Will you be rocking any heart shaped prints this february?
